Nae Limits

My guests who had been staying a few days told me they were going sphering today in between Blairgowrie and Dunkeld, so for those that are interested in adventure activities I have put on the link to Nae Limits who run all sorts of fun things. Give it a go!

Yesterday evening I uploaded my photos of the MacThomas gathering place onto my flickr album and this morning I had a lovely e-mail from a lady in Australia who had come across them whilst doing some family research, wow the power of the web.

Clach na Coileach 'The Cockstane'

I went skiing again yesterday, that will probably be my last time of the season, mind you I think I said that before. On the way up to Glenshee by the side of the road is the gathering place for the Clan MacThomas, so I took a few pictures. There is a small car park, so it's easy to park and have a wander.

Pictures from the Claybokie run

Checking out the Glenshee conditions this morning, I saw they had fresh snow overnight so eventually we decided we would go up and get an afternoon pass. In the car park it was snowing and windy, but myself and daughter no 2 decided we would brave it and the rest went home and would pick us up later. I now know the exact mileage to Glenshee, 26 miles. I'm glad we went skiing, had a great afternoon, lots of fun, despite it snowing continuously and being quite windy. Husband had a bad journey collecting us as he was nearly at the top and they closed the snow gates because of the ice on the road, but they let him through. We had to wait a little while to go back down for the gritters to do their stuff. Glenshee now have web cam pictures on the ski scotland site.

Out for Lunch

Yesterday my Mum kindly took me out for lunch to 'The Antiquary' which is located in an antique showroom at Lower Mill Street. We had an excellent lunch and very good value. It is open during the day for snacks and meals and in the evening on a Friday and Saturday. I have had guests go before and they thoroughly enjoyed their meal and would recommend it. Then to walk off your meal you could go for a stroll along the riverbank.
Hubby took the girls up to Glenshee this morning and they had a great time. Unfortunately the rain moved in from the west just after lunch so I hope they don't lose too much snow. Okay the snow is nothing like it was a month ago, but for the younger ones just learning it was super.

More Spring Flowers

Well we did miss the snow last night, but they seem to have had plenty up the road, looks like the skiing could be on again after the mild temperatures of last week. Check out the ski scotland website for updates. Today in Blairgowrie it is sunny and cold, but the spring flowers are coming out in abundance. My link I did yesterday to Facebook doesn't appear to be working, I shall try to rectify it.

General Rambling

I'm going to go on about the weather again. Last night's forecast predicted a huge dump of snow this afternoon/evening and in light of this I had some fishermen cancel their booking. So surprise surprise it hasn't materialised as yet. They are certainly getting snow on the west and further north of us, so I hope I won't be eating my words and wake up to a snowfall.
I received an interesting booklet through the post called 'Listening to your visitors', all about feedback, review sites etc and in one section about social networking and making it work for your business I was pleased to see I was already doing some of the suggestions, blog, flickr, you tube and facebook. Well to be fair I haven't actually uploaded my youtube video promoting my B&B yet, no that's a lie I did but thought it looked terrible so I took it off again!! As for facebook a friend last year got me to join up to be her friend but I never really got into it. When I was having a look at the site I saw you could create a page to promote your business so I did and I can feed this blog straight into it. Surprising amount of B&B's on facebook. So if you click on this you can go to my page and if you are a facebook member you could become a 'fan'.
But the new thing to do now seems to be Twitter, don't think I'll bother but you never know! Ah the joy of technology.
