This afternoon was the Opening Ceremony for the Junior Ryder Cup here in Blairgowrie, North Britain. Today and yesterday were the practice sessions. I walked along yesterday for a look and we had some fun in the area set up for children to try their hand at golf. They got a really impressive goodie bag as well. Very busy week in the B&B with the main Ryder Cup being held at the mighty Gleneagles. The Ryder Cup is a team golf competition between the USA and Europe.
Interestingly there will a referendum, in 2017 I think, to vote whether or not the UK should stay in Europe. Anyway, no more political talk from me. Watch the grassroots grow, 'O flower of Scotland' has wilted somewhat.

The Scottish Referendum - 18th September 2014
A damp, dreich, drizzly day in Blairgowrie with one question dominating the thoughts of people living in Scotland, YES or NO. The ballot paper itself reflects the question, asking for a cross in either box. The question being 'Should Scotland be an independent Country'. I thought I would record a few random pictures of the day, just to remember. There is a real feeling of anticipation in the air, can truly say I have never felt anything like it. Whatever your opinion on the question and whatever the result I hope we can all move forward in a positive manner.

Dundee Flower & Food Festival & Stuff
September well under way now and have the busy week of the Junior Ryder Cup, here in Blairgowrie, and the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles to look forward to. Last weekend was the Dundee Flower & Food Festival which I managed to get along too, on not one but two days. My eldest daughter was taking part in a cookery demonstration on the Friday. On the Sunday she was invited to meet Nick Nairn and Paul Rankin, two well known chefs. Haven't been out and about very much apart from a pleasant Saturday evening in Dunkeld having fish and chips by the river. I have a new man in my life, a chocolate spaniel pup. He is very clever and settled in very quickly, I have no doubt he will be 'loyal and good', dogs don't tell whopping big lies. My older dog is sadly losing his eyesight and had a rather scary seizure last week, but is still full of beans.
