Yesterday we went along to Alyth to the Lands of Loyal Hotel who had a garden open day (although you can look around the garden anytime). As is the general theme when I attend open gardens, it rained. Lovely gardens with superb herbaceous borders and pretty kitchen garden with an immense polytunnel where there was a pottery demonstration and a willow weaving. I particularly enjoyed the drystone wall demonstration by the new seating area being built. There were stalls, music and food in the hotel and even a fire engine parked up outside. All the gardens open under Scotland's Garden Scheme are worth a visit and they raise money for a variety of charities.

We all had a great time and your hotel and gardens are gorgeous. Quite fancy a drystone wall feature in my garden now and had a nice chat with Mr McGill.
