Grandtully - Tay Forest Park

A few weeks ago I went for a walk at Grandtully Forest, there is parking available. That particular day the weather moved between blizzard conditions and bright sunshine, so made it more interesting.  I had uploaded a few geocaches into my ancient garmin gps with the aim to 'get a few'. It was a pleasant stroll through forestry plantations then a gradual climb up to a viewpoint with several cairns. I failed in my geocache search, technology said I was on them but it was a fail from me.

Gold Panning

Watching the canoeists on the rapids at Grandtully

Had a little trip out today near Aberfeldy to Highland Safaris approx. 50 minutes away, take a look at their website as they do fantastic Land Rover Safaris. We had a go at gold and gem panning, it was actually great fun, spent ages doing it. Had a bite to eat in their cafe, very nice food and on the drive back we stopped to watch all the canoeists battling the rapids at Grandtully. There is a lot to look at in the aberfeldy area and it is a perfect day trip from Blairgowrie.
