Alyth Show

This is the 2nd year that the Alyth and District Show has been held in the Highland Games field here in Blairgowrie, which makes it a gentle 7 minute stroll away. Alyth is the next town along from Blairgowrie. The show is an Agricultural show with livestock, Trade stands, Highland Dancing, Food and Crafts etc. I missed a couple of the things I wanted to see like the dog agility. The weather was a mixture of sunshine and showers, but a nice couple of hours. Timed my return to the house perfectly just as regular golfing guest's arrived at the door. It is the Scottish Mixed Foursomes this week. I also have some guest's from the US doing a bit of geocaching on the Cateran Trail GeoTour.

Darroch Bluebell Wood, Blairgowrie

The local Bluebell Woods here in Blairgowrie are at their peak right now, you can see the swathes of blue under the oak trees from quite a distance away, quite breathtaking. I did a little photographic walk the other day, yes landscape and nature (sorry have been enthralled with all things natural from being a young child)
From Gilmore House turn right along the Perth Road then take a right onto the Essendy Road. This road may look like a quiet back road but take care as the traffic is very fast and many a time I have had to jump into the verge. Keep walking, past the Highland Games field, until you come to a house on the left called Northallerton and you can access the woods from here, there is also ample parking. You can do a full circuit of the woods or cut down via White Loch and back to the Perth Road or go  along another path that brings you out at Muirton Woods and across the field back onto the main road.
In other news my daughter won the final of the Junior MasterCook which was held at the High School and won many goodies, clever girl :-)
