A walk up Birnam Hill

Today was overcast but warm so I decided to go on a walk which I haven't done before, a circular route up to the top of Birnam Hill.  I took the quick back road via Murthly and parked at Quarrymill car park on the old A9.  It is quite a steep walk, in parts, going up to the top and coming down the other side is no easier but it is straightforward so you shouldn't get lost.

Half way up you can take a wee detour to Stair Bridge and admire the view, watch out for the steep drop here.

Great panoramic views when you get to the top, must be even more amazing on a clearer day.

Kings seat at the top.

A birds eye view of Birnam and Dunkeld with Loch of the Lowes, Craiglush Loch and Butterstone Loch clearly visible, which reminds me that it won't be long until the Ospreys return.
You can pick up another walk here or even go into Birnam itself or continue back to the car park.  You can also easily park in Birnam or at the Railway Station as you may be in need of refreshment after your climb and descent.

I made a video at the top here on You Tube
